Grasse is the fourth most populous town in the Alpes-Maritimes, and one of the youngest. In 2018, the town had 48,865 inhabitants. With a population density of 1,098 inhabitants per sq. kilometre, Grasse is an urban municipality considered as dense or of intermediate density according to the municipal density grid of INSEE. It is one of the 51 municipalities of the urban area of Nice, the seventh intra-departmental agglomeration in France, and one of the 24 municipalities of the Cannes-Antibes attraction area.
