Grasse, sub-prefecture of the Alpes-Maritimes

A major city in the Middle Country of the Côte d’Azur, Grasse is a sub-prefecture of the Alpes-Maritimes. It is located in the West of the department: 7.4 miles (12 km) North of Cannes and 18 miles (29 km) in a direct line from Nice. The town spreads over 27.34 sq. miles (44.44 km2), from less than 328 feet (100 meters) to over 3,280 feet (1,000 meters) above sea level – when going up the Napoleon road towards Saint-Vallier-de-Thiey – with an average elevation of 1,092 feet (333 meters).
