Corsica is crossed along its ridge, from Calenzana in the north-west to Conca in the southeast, by the GR20, the legendary hiking trail designed by Michel Fabrikant. The trail extends over 111.8mi (180km) with an elevation of about 32,808ft (10,000m) and requires a fortnight. Without major difficulty, it however includes passages on ridges and steep passes that the wind, the snow or the rain can make vertiginous.
