Exceptional pieces are presented in the permanent collections of the Lalique Museum in Wingen-sur-Moder, in Alsace. From 1925 to 1931, the master glassmaker René Lalique diversified his production of vases and perfume bottles, creating some thirty glass radiator caps for luxury automobiles. Such as the Grande Libellule stopper, which could be illuminated by the metal base, or the Cinq Chevaux stopper for the Citroën 5 Hp Torpédo, created to pay tribute to the first model launched by the brand in 1922. With the disappearance of external stoppers, Lalique recycled its creations into paperweights or bookends by fixing them to a glass base.
