The giraffe sleeps very little, less than 2 hours in 24 hours and rather by day to continue to monitor the horizon. In fact, they doze standing, eyes wide open, for periods of 10 to 30 minutes in a row. The giraffe is the only terrestrial mammal that does not yawn.
