A subsidiary of the family-owned Agora Technologies group, the GHM foundry (Générale d’Hydraulique et de Mécanique) has been manufacturing public lighting and urban furniture equipment in its Sommevoire (Haute-Marne) factory for over 180 years. A world reference in art foundry, the company uses its collection of thousands of moulds to re-edit old models (statues, vases, firebacks). The moulding workshop (photo), with its wooden frame, is the oldest building in the foundry. Cast iron and aluminium parts (such as tramway masts) are still cast here today.
