Kiyomizu-dera Temple
Presiding over the Southern Higashiyama Sightseeing district, with a brilliant view across the entire city, is Kiyomizu-dera Temple, one of Kyoto’s most worthwhile temples to visit. After climbing Chawan-zaka to get there you’ll soon see the brightly painted entrance gate and pagoda. It was here that I found this group of colorfully dressed women in geisha garb. Providing a beautiful perspective of ancient Kyoto.
