Gardens structured in vast vegetated terraces

Located in Martinique at the northern exit of Saint-Pierre in the direction of Morne-Rouge, the gardens of Château Depaz overlook the distillery and the sugar cane plantations. They were designed in the early 1920s to form a neoclassical ensemble with the castle they surround. The gardens are structured in vast vegetated terraces and highlighted by imposing trees (Caribbean albizia, talipot palms, rubber trees, etc.). They display all the characteristics of the classicism developed at the time in metropolitan aristocratic properties and incorporate various masonry structures (balustrades, retaining walls, horseshoe staircase, nymphaeum, platforms, etc.).
