A singapour les autorités ont entrepris de transformer la cité-état en cité-jardin. Dans les immenses Gardens by the Bay, 18 super-arbres artificiels de 25 à 50 mètres ont été construits. Ces structures de béton et de métal abritent des milliers de plantes tropicales et fournissent de l'électricité grâce à des panneaux photovoltaïques. Une interprétation moderne de la forêt équatoriale.
