Le fruit de la Morelle noire est une baie qui sera noire à maturité.
Encore vertes , elles sont hautement toxiques en raison de la solanine qu’elles contiennent. Elle est dangereuse pour les animaux et les êtres humains. Il n’y a pas d’antidote spécifique.
Elle est souvent confondue avec la Belladone, qui produit elle aussi des baies noires.
