Excavations have established that there were smelters working in the Blaise valley in the Haute-Marne as early as the 13th century. In the 19th century, when the valley was at its peak, it was at the heart of the metallurgical industry. The Metallurgic Park is a continuation of this regional tradition on a perfectly preserved former industrial site. In an ingenious scenography, visitors can learn how a blast furnace and a blacksmith’s shop work, as well as how art castings are made. A workshop offers visitors the opportunity to make a sand mould to cast a medal to take home.
