From the forest to a sandy estuary

The Sienne has its source in the forest of Saint-Sever and joins the English Channel after 57,5 miles (92.6 km). Its sandy estuary extends in the harbor of Regnéville-sur-Mer, on the Côte des Havres. Regularly flooded, it presents a sandy spur (Pointe d'Agon) and then divides into a mudflat zone downstream (the slikke) and a pre-salt area upstream (the schorre). The estuary is frequented by many birds, some migrating like brant geese and oystercatchers. Salmons go up the Siena, and others reproduce in its estuary.
