From straw to large golden ribbons

The Terre de Lin factories, based in Saint-Pierre-le-Viger, consist of several buildings, each dedicated to one stage of flax fibers transformation. The machines first rid them of their straw matrix, flatten them, comb them, and finally form a large ribbon of silky fiber. The golden linen fiber, which seems like hair, is stored in metal barrels and shipped to the four corners of the earth to be spun.
