From geological disaster to ecological paradise

As the volcano erupts, the magma deposits on the edges make a chimney called the caldera. In Scandola, the magma mounted up more in one side than the other and collapsed, bringing half of the volcano into the water. The vertical organs, a phenomenon of crystallization of the magma that cools, have tilted horizontally. This geological disaster leads to an ecological paradise nowadays protected.
