From a national property to a municipal good
After the French Revolution of 1789, the castle of Rustrel in the Vaucluse department was sold as a national property. From 1847, it was gradually bought back by the municipality, which today fully owns it. The castle currently houses the town hall of Rustrel and, as such, displays the French, European, and Provence flags on the pediment of its main entrance. Part of the building has been converted into a gite, open for renting.
