Inaugurated in 2013, the Maritime History Museum of Saint-Tropez took over from the Marine Museum inside the keep of the city's citadel. From 1958 to 2002, the Marine Museum exhibited engravings, paintings, documents, amphorae, and models, all testimonies of Saint-Tropez's naval heritage from Antiquity to contemporary times. When it closed, the building underwent major restoration work before being able to house the current Maritime History Museum, born after extensive historical research and the acquisition of new collections.
