From a green light to a red light

The light located at the end of the eastern jetty of the port of Trouville-Deauville in the Calvados department was originally a fixed green light on a cast-iron candelabra set up on June 10, 1860. It was replaced on April 1, 1875, by a fixed green light on a sheet metal turret. The structure painted white was erected 39 ft (12 m) from the end of the pier before giving way to a fixed white light with lenticular optics on February 26, 1888. At the beginning of the 20th century, this white light was equipped with a red sector to become a red light flashing every four seconds.
