French art casting

The GHM foundry in Sommevoire (Haute-Marne), now specialised in lighting and urban furniture, continues to produce cast iron and bronze art as it did in the 19th century. In 1857, Antoine Durenne (1822-1895) bought the Sommevoire foundry. The company quickly became a leader in French art casting and collected awards at the World Fairs in Paris and Vienna. Commemorative monuments, fountains, animal, religious or allegorical statues, kiosks, architectural decorations, Durenne bronzes or castings adorned countless cities in France, Spain, North and South America and Russia.
