Freestyle is an acrobatic and artistic discipline reserved for experienced kitesurfers, like the Martinican Mickael Neral here at Pointe Faula. Its practitioners perform free figures during vertiginous jumps made possible by the traction of the sail that they generally maintain in a high (or old school) position above them. Some of these figures are classics found in other sliding sports. In competition, they must be completed within a given time and follow one another according to a specific course. Freestyle is unquestionably the most spectacular discipline in kitesurfing.
