Frangipani (Plumeria) are deciduous trees of the Apocynaceae family which usually vary in size between 6.5 and 19.6ft (2-6m) but which reach up to 39.3ft (12m) for the red flowered Plumeria rubra variety. They grow in full sun in tropical regions but can withstand freezing temperatures, down to -39°F (-4°C). The leaves of all the varieties of Plumeria are poisonous.
