In Scandola, about 1,000 different species blossom in the terrestrial reserve of 950 hectares and the marine reserve of 1,000 hectares. This capsule free from human presence is the pride of Corsican people but it is also fragile. One of the Caulerpa subspecies is an invasive seaweed and smothers other marine plants. It threatens the marine biodiversity, causing the migration of certain fish species and a decrease of aquatic flora diversity.
