Four heads at the four cardinal points

Installed among the olive trees of the Jardin des Sculptures of the Fondation Carmignac in Porquerolles, the statues that constitute the work Four Seasons by Ugo Rondinone evoke the cycle of the seasons and the inexorability of passing time. The creation designed by the Swiss artist in 2018 places four patinated bronze heads at the four cardinal points. Their expressive and childish faces, resembling both carnival masks and primitive statues, give visitors a singular and dreamlike experience of communion with nature.
