Fort du Pradeau

C’est en 1634 que le Fort du Pradeau voit le jour. Il est plus couramment appelé la « Tour Fondue », déformation de « Tourre foundudo » (tour fendue en provençal), allusion à la ruine d’une ancienne tour médiévale implantée sur le site. A vocation militaire, le fort protégeait la passe de l’Ouest entre la presqu’île de Giens et Porquerolles. Aujourd’hui, ce site classé monument historique a été entièrement rénové et est devenu une porte d’entrée du territoire du Parc national de Port-Cros.
