The Lékiny cliffs form an escarpment on the eastern coast of Ouvéa Island. They were created by the particularly spectacular marine erosion of their limestone rock in the cracks of which the water has entered until causing the boulders detachment and fall. Their rock wall is almost devoid of vegetation. The base of these more than 32.8ft (10m) high cliffs has been notched by the water movements.
