Almost two thirds of the surface of the Loyalty Islands are covered with a forest mainly consisting of Schefflera golip, Elaeodendron curtipendulum, Ficus spp, Manilkara dissecta and Eleocarpus sphaericus. Characterized as a dense evergreen humid forest on limestone, this forest presents a whole series of anthropogenic degradations linked to crops ranging from herbaceous groups to thickets.
