Forest regeneration
0
0
The process of forest regeneration comes from germination. Wind, birds, and insects also participate in the dispersal of seeds and pollens. The Eurasian Jay hides a supply of acorns during each fall under roots, mosses, or tree stumps. Wild bees and butterflies carry pollen from flower to flower and pollinate plants and trees.
The forest is home to three kinds of consumers. Primaries, like squirrels or larvae, feed on plant tissue. Secondaries, like owls or moles, feed on the primaries. Tertiaries are carnivores like the raptor that, for example, eats a snake, which itself feeds on lizards.
