Artificial spruce forests have a regular stand in terms of structure and age which makes them too genetically homogeneous, very poor in biodiversity and impoverishes the forest soils while promoting the appearance or spread of diseases or parasites. On the contrary, their heterogenization and irregularization allows a better forest regeneration and the improvement of their ecological resilience in the face of global warming responsible for droughts and fire risks.
