Foreshores are formed with alluvium that the sea no longer covers. In 1913, the Société des Hôtels et Casino of Deauville turned them into vast gardens. In 1972, a deep-water marina was added in the eastern part, and a sports complex was built in front of the casino. The architect Patrick Le Gosles imagined in 1993 the Centre International de Deauville (C.I.D.), buried halfway so as not to pollute the view from the terraces of the casino. The foreshores of Deauville are specific to the resort.
