Forage storage and livestock housing

In La Grange de la Haute Vallée, the hay is stored near the stabling area of the Montlbéliardes herd, from which it is completely separated. Isolating the livestock from the forage prevents its alteration by the moisture and odors from the cows. It hence helps maintain the quality of the hay distributed throughout the winter forage period. The fodder distributed daily with a fork by Alain André, the farm manager, remains fresh, crisp, and pleasantly scented.
