The analysis of African elephants’ excrements makes it possible to specify their diet. Their dung is collected and undigested plant remains are identified and evaluated. It has thus been concluded that the mass of food ingested daily by an elephant varies between 330-374lbs (150-170kg) in the dry season and between 440-617lbs (200-280kg) in the wet season.
