The dynamic city of Grasse organizes numerous events around flowers and local traditions. The most famous is the Jasmine Festival: every first weekend of August, flower distributions and musical and cultural animations celebrate jasmine (jasminus grandiflorum), the city’s emblematic flower. Other annual celebrations include the truffle fair (in January), the Vénusia cosmetology congress (in April), the ExpoRose international exhibition of roses, and the Centifolia festival in neighbouring Plascassier (in May).
