Gray herons, swallows, swans, green neck ducks, moorhens… The waterways are a natural habitat and an ideal environment for numerous species and notably for birds. The species that are reproducing in these aquatic environments are plentiful and among them, mammals can also be found such as the nutria. Research and studies are underway to better understand the ecological value and the biodiversity of the Canal.
