The decoration of this pot from the Edmond Fallot mustard factory in Beaune represents stylized mustard leaves and flowers. Mustard, which takes less than two months to reach a height of 27.5 inches (70 cm) or more, grows in flexible, branchy, and hairy stems ending in compound, lobed, and toothed leaves. Its yellow flowers with four sepals and four petals are united in clusters. In the wild, they flourish from April to September.
