The Grand Est region was the cradle of glass art from the 15th century and later with Lalique, who created iconic crystal bottles for perfumery. The European Universal Exhibitions brought Art Nouveau and Art Deco into the bottles. Baccarat invented the amphora bottle that came in all forms. Revealing antique inspiration, it was chosen by Christian Dior in 1947.
