The atoll of Niau contains a fully watertight lagoon. There, men fish the pati, a small fish present in abundance in these brackish waters. Every day, they walk around the atoll and strive to locate a shoal of fish. Once their target is in sight they can cautiously unwrap their net and attempt to capture it.
