Nunavut is the largest, coldest and driest area in Canada. Sparsely populated, 25 Inuit communities live there, forming the majority of the inhabitants. The territory is divided into three physiographic regions: the Hudson Bay Lowlands, the Canadian Shield and the Arctic Lands. Fishing is one of the economic and cultural pillars of this region.
