The fish caught by the Ua Pou fishermen are destined for local consumption. As soon as the fishermen arrive on the Hakahau port quay, they are weighed to be sold on the local market. Depending on the size of the catch, one or more people take care of weighing. An adult barracuda weighs 53lbs (24kg), jacks around twenty pounds.
