Female chacma baboon
1
0
The female chacma baboon is able to procreate from 3 years and a half. She then mates with 2 or 3 males starting with the most dominant male. Every two years, she gives birth to a baby, sometimes two, after a gestation of 7 months. In a group, all females belong to the same lineage and never leave their birth group. The hierarchy of females in the group is variable. Inherited from the mothers, it also depends on the status of reproduction, the presence of an offspring or not and the rank of the partners.
