Firmly dedicated to green tourism due to its proximity to Paris, the Pays d'Auge extends from the Touques watershed in the east to the Dives in the west, the Côte Fleurie (Flowery Coast) in the north, and the hills of Argentan to the south. It benefits from an oceanic-type climate characterized by an annual distribution of rainfall and a moderation of temperatures by the influence of the Gulf stream. Such parameters are favorable to the maintenance of meadows and grasslands suitable for cattle and horse breeding. The region naturally became a land of horses and studs where around a third of French racehorses are bred.
