Fakarava, the Garuae pass

Garuae pass, in the North of Fakarava, is the largest in French Polynesia with a 1 mile width. It is a strategic point for underwater fauna. Notably, because it is one of the entry points for a water rich in nutrients. Hence, a high density of fishes (jacks, perches, goatfishes) and predators (sleeper sharks, moray eels).
