0
The Fairy Tern (Sternula nereis) is a bird species of the Laridae family classified as 'vulnerable' by BirdLife International. In the immature stage, the subspecies Sternula nervis exsul from New Caledonia is very similar to the Dwarf Tern (Sternula albifrons) with which it sometimes hybridizes. Only nuances of color in the feathers and beak as well as the relative length of the wings and tail distinguish them.
