To hunt or accompany animal-watching expeditions, the Inuits of the Canadian Arctic travel long distances through the snow-covered tundra where they set up temporary camps. The tents are planted in the snow on a flat ground. They are oriented in the direction of the wind and are later covered with tanned waterproofing and insulating animal skins.
