After three years of restoration and expansion work, the Unterlinden Museum in Colmar reopened in December 2015. The former Dominican convent, renovated by the Monuments Historiques, is dedicated to ancient art and works of art. The new building, which was added to the former Municipal Baths, was designed by the Swiss architects Herzog and de Meuron. It is dedicated to modern art collections and temporary exhibitions. An underground gallery between the 13th century convent and the modern building presents a panorama of 19th and early 20th century art.
