The Domaine d’Esthine, located in Longrais and just outside Carolles, in the Manche, is a breeding farm made up exclusively of Cotentin donkeys (Equus asinus). The owner, Brigitte Pieau, wants to rehabilitate this heritage breed of donkeys from the Manche. Set up over 11 hectares of farmland, her 19 donkeys take advantage of the open space. A partnership with the ‘Conservatoire du littoral’ (French Coastal Protection Agency) has been in place for several years: “My donkeys help to clean up the paths that have been left abandoned”.
