Evolving dashboards

The interiors of yesteryear's cars can seem rather simplistic when compared to those of today. If luxury materials such as precious woods are still used in our time, the dashboard has substantially changed. Today, it displays all information in a glance, while the driver had little data at his disposal on most pre-war models. On the Bugatti Royale, yet the most expensive car in the world in the 1930s, the dashboard lacked a fuel gauge, speedometer, or ammeter.
