Implemented on a local scale by an autonomous assembly, the 'rahui' involves the assistance of different institutions - ancestors (tupuna), experts (tahu'a), culture and genealogies (hiroa tumu) - to manage the environment according to the lunar calendars and context. It temporarily authorizes the organization of fishermen's gatherings to collect fish intended for the community, thus reaffirming its primary role : maintaining equity and promoting sharing.
