Environmental impact of the mining sites
To limit the environmental impact of the large New Caledonian mining sites such as Tiébaghi, various measures are applied. Thus, the water used to transform the extracted ore into pulp is recycled and reinjected into the circuit thanks to settling tanks constructed to allow the sedimentation of fine materials and to manage the runoff waters. Efforts to revegetate the no longer operated sites are also undertaken.
