Between the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean

The municipality of Le Marin is located in the southern tip of Martinique, just north of Sainte-Anne, which it borders. The two towns are the only ones on the island to open both on the Caribbean and Atlantic coasts. Here, the Grande Anse Macabou extends between Le Marin and Le Vauclin to the north of the Vierge des Marins chapel and Anse Grosse Roche in the wildest part of the southern Atlantic coast of Martinique. This cove, in the shape of a half-moon exposed to the trade winds, shelters a beach of more than 0.6 miles (1 km) which is little frequented as it is difficult to access.
