Training for the abrivado and bandido

The horses of the Blanc manade (herd) are trained by the gardians (herdsmen) to participate in Camargue races and, in particular, the abrivado and the bandido. This tradition, which precedes and follows the races, stages the arrival and departure of the bulls in the arenas. The competitors are accompanied by gardians on horseback from their meadow. Along the way, the herdsmen, horses, and bulls must strive to stay shackled (grouped) as onlookers try to disrupt their marching order.
