Finally consecrated in April 1925

As soon as its construction was completed, the church of Notre-Dame d’Epernay was hit by a shell in July 1918, which damaged the vaults of the nave and the façade. Restored a few years later, it was finally consecrated by Monseigneur Tissier, Bishop of Châlons, on 13 April 1925. A sacred art area contains precious liturgical vestments, 15th and 16th century statues, and a 15th century tombstone classified as a historical monument and bearing the effigy of Marguerite de Châteauvillain, abbess of Argensolles, a convent in the Epernay region which has now disappeared.
